Nancy Kay Truitt, born on August 23, 1945, in an era of promise and change, passed away on December 19, 2024, in Macon, Georgia, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and humor that touched all who knew her. 

 

A graveside ceremony to honor Kay's life and legacy will take place on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Independence United Methodist Church, 247 Independence St, Tignall, GA 30668. Family, friends, and all whose lives she enriched are invited to come and celebrate her life. 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Kay's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 3040 Riverside Dr, Macon, GA 31210, reflecting her compassion and enduring commitment to making a difference.

 

Throughout her life, Kay was known for her love of sharing meals with friends, often infusing each gathering with laughter and warmth. Her infectious humor and kind spirit were a beacon to all, making every shared moment a cherished memory. Kay devoted her career to serving the state of Georgia, working diligently, after she achieved her Bachelor degree.  Her dedication and service are remembered fondly by her colleagues and friends. Kay is survived by several cousins, including Larry Slaton, who will continue to cherish her memory and uphold the values she held dear. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Richard Truitt and Katherine Bissle, whose guiding hands shaped the woman she became.
