Ruby Johnson moved to her heavenly home Saturday Dec 21, 2024. Her husband of 66 years, Lionel was at her side when she left this world. She was a very talented artist and especially enjoyed knitting, painting, and ceramics. Ruby was an avid gardener. She loved anything red, which was her favorite color. Ruby was known for her quick wit as well as being a loving and devoted wife and mother.
She is preceded by her parents, Hettie and “Trigg” Lane, 5 brothers and sisters - Rev William Lane, (Kathleen), Robert “Jack” Lane (Lena), Harvey Lane (Vicki), Nancy Blalock (Eugene), and June Rose (Jim).
She is survived by her husband, Lionel Johnson of Hiltons, VA, her sons, Anthony (Irene) Johnson and Dirk (Gail) Johnson; grandchildren, Samantha (Lane) Moore, and Derek and Lexi Johnson; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Brother David Lane officiating.

A graveside service will follow at Holston View Cemetery with Derek Johnson, Bobby Lane, Mike Lane, Robby Lane, Carl Johnson, and Donnie Mann serving as pallbearers.
