Paul Howard Hartley passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on November 28th in Denver Colorado at the age of 76. He was born in Batavia, New York on June 23, 1948. Paul is preceded in death by his father, Howard Walter Hartley and mother, Mary Agnes Kiley Hartley. Bothers, Frank and Howard Hartley, sister, Kathleen Catino. Paul is survived by daughters, Tiffiny Hynek, Shawna and son, Joseph Nevins. Former wife, Glena Smith Hartley and grandchildren, Kaden and Ronan Hynek and Jorja Nevins. Sisters, Susan (Bart) Dumbra, Mary Balonek, Ann (Joe) Zawicki and Eileen Vincent. Bothers, Thomas (Pam) Hartley and Peter Hartley. Paul had numerous nieces and nephews.
He attended Elba Central School in Elba, N.Y. and graduated from Clear Creek High School in Idaho Springs, CO. He proudly served in the United States Army and did tour in Vietnam. He was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Serving his country was his greatest honor.
Paul loved the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and was an avid skier. He worked on Ski Patrol at Loveland Valley Ski Resort. He was proficient at operating heavy equipment and worked on the Eisenhower Tunnel cutting through the Rocky Mountains on I-70 through the Continental Divide. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, fine dining and had a love for the ocean. Paul loved exploring new destinations.
Paul loved his children, grandchildren and all his family. He always looked forward to family get togethers.
His greatest wish is for his funeral arrangements is to be laid to rest at Arlington Nation Cemetery in order to appropriately represent his family name. It will be awhile until his case is reviewed. If that isn’t possible he will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan Cemetery in Denver Colorado.
