James Richard Bell
September 8th, 1943 - December 22nd, 2024
For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
James Bell, aged 81, passed away on December 22, 2024, in Maplewood, MN. Born on September 8, 1943, James dedicated over five decades of his life to the Sheet Metal Local 10 Union as a sheetmetal worker, reflecting his commitment to craftsmanship and community.
James served honorably in the United States Navy, carrying the values of loyalty and duty through his naval career into his personal life. He was a man who believed in helping others, but also in the importance of personal responsibility.
A sports enthusiast, James had a lifelong passion for the Minnesota Vikings, the Minnesota Twins, hockey and golf. He cherished time spent at the lake as a loyal family man with a love for the outdoors, including fishing, hunting, and tinkering with anything he could get his hands on.
He leaves behind a loving family: Chris (Karianne) Keller, Deb (Bob) Diaz, Terry (Kim) Keller, Cheryl (Mike) Benedict, Tom (Teri) Keller, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his brothers, Jerry (Phyllis) Bell, and Joseph (Carol) Bell. James was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over fifty years, Joan Bell; son, Jeff Tollefson; and his parents, Grace and Thomas Bell and many family members.
A funeral service is scheduled for January 7, 2025, at 11:00 am at Church of St. Peter, 2600 Margaret St. N, North St. Paul, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. James will be laid to rest with full honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
