Dora Spivey Phillips entered into rest on Sunday, December 15, 2024 surrounded by love in Summerville, SC.  She was a native of Pineville, LA.  She was married to the late Gus Rembert Phillips for 63 years.  After marriage she and Gus moved to Crossett, AK and then to Augusta, GA in 1966.  She was a housewife and could be found preserving lots of Gus’ gardening specialties. She was active in her church, Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and she loved her family dearly. 

Family members include: daughters, Carol Wege (Bill) of Hinesville, GA; Donna Kwiatkowski (Pete) of Greensboro, NC; son Billy Phillips (Beth) of Summerville, SC; nine grandchildren (Leigh, Billy, Laura, Chris, Rick, Jenee, Will, Meggie and Kellye) and twelve loving great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Beatrice Spivey, brother Nelson Spivey, her loving husband Gus Phillips, son in law Bill Wege and grandson Rick Wege.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 at 1:00PM at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 3185 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA 30909.
