It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert M. Whitley on December 24, 2024, in Georgia. Born on July 26, 1949, in North Carolina, Robert lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and unwavering loyalty. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate his life at a visitation held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before dedicating his career to civil service as a logistics manager at Robins Air Force Base until his retirement. His professional life was characterized by commitment and excellence, leaving a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike. A man of many talents and joys, Robert was a cherished member of the Waterford Golf Club, where he could often be found enjoying the company of friends and honing his skills on the golf course. Known for his humor and kind heart, he brought warmth and laughter to all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Robert and Sidney Whitley. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 31 years, Mary Whitley; his son, Brian Whitley, and daughter-in-law Lori; his cherished bonus daughters, Pennie Banks, Amy Jernigen with her husband Jason, and Mary Adams with her husband Bobby. Additionally, Robert is survived by his brothers, Melvin Whitley with wife Deborah, and Michael Whitley, alongside his treasured grandchildren—two grandsons, four granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren—who were the light of his life.
