Kara Ann Nealon
October 10th, 1986 - December 15th, 2024
Kara Ann Nealon Laplante passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. Born in Dallas, Texas on October 10, 1986, she was the daughter of John “Jack” Nealon, Jr. (Diane) of Dallas, TX and Mary Lytle of Newburyport, MA.
Kara grew up in Dallas, Texas and Westport, CT. She graduated from Sam Houston State University where she made many life-long friends and moved to Prescott, AZ after college where she worked in the field of Education for ten years. In Prescott, Kara met many wonderful, loving friends who made her time in Arizona very special. Four years ago, Kara transitioned to a corporate career as Lead Executive Assistant at Smart Reviews where she was currently employed.
It was in Arizona that Kara met her husband of 2 years, Christopher Laplante. Kara and Christopher resided in Tucson where they had many loving family members and friends who will miss her easy smile, playful humor, and fantastic laugh.
Kara’s dogs were her babies. As her friends and family know, she often posted selfies with her beloved “best friends” Chewy and Tank. They will miss her dearly.
Kara lit up every room she walked into. She had a warm smile, a big heart, and a joyful presence. She never met a stranger, and everyone became a friend. She was fiercely loyal and would drop everything when a loved one was in need. Kara was a caretaker at heart, and we were all lucky to know and be loved by her. She cherished her relationships with family and friends, and she was proud to have a large, loving extended family. Trips to New York where she ran around with her Nealon cousins were among her best memories.
Kara is survived by her husband, Christopher Laplante, parents Jack and Diane Nealon and Mary Lytle, her brother, John Nealon, and his wife, Morgan (Lila, Jack, and Maverick) of Norwalk, CT, her sisters, Sarah Nealon (Ava and Rhea) and Grace Nealon of Dallas, Texas, aunts Marianne Durkan (John) of Hood River, OR, Jean Nealon of Canton, CT, Patricia Lamanna (Bill) of Bonney Lake, WA, Kate McDaniel of Durham, NC, Sharon Egger (Randy) of Dallas, TX, Susan Bonner (Henry) of Branford, CT, Theresa Spaulding (David) of Newburyport, MA, Jennifer Truesdale of Nantucket, MA, Deidre Mannix (Lawrence) of Nantucket, MA, Uncles Michael Nealon (Jacquelyn) of Schenectady, NY, Mark Nealon (Gia) of Rockingham, VA, many cousins whom she adored, in-laws Marta and Chris Laplante, and sister-in-law, Sofia Laplante.
Kara is predeceased by her grandparents, Anna and Jack Nealon Sr., Lois and Michael Knuths, and Bernice and Kevin Donahoe, her beloved brother, Kevin Nealon, and dear cousin, Michael Durkan.
Services will be held in Tucson, AZ on January 3, 2025, at 10:30 am at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church located at 1946 E Lee St. There will be a Celebration of Kara’s Life for family and friends in Dallas, Texas in late January as well.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Community Partners of Dallas (cpdtx.org) or the Humane Society of Dallas County (https://dognkittycity.org)
