Zelda Fern Weddle 78, of Nickelsville went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 27, 2024. She was born in Kingsport to the late Noah and Thelma Taylor. Zelda was an avid seamstress and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted member of Greenwood Chapel Church. Zelda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  

 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Weddle; sisters, Hazel Dingus, Hannah Dean, and Sally Nash; brothers, Bill Taylor, Noah Taylor, and Howard Taylor; great-grandson, Eliah Gilreath. 

 

Survivors include her sons, Jeff Weddle and wife Conda, Jerry Weddle and wife Janice; daughter, Jennifer Williams and husband Tim; grandchildren, Pance Kecev, Allen Weddle, Morgan Gilreath, Savannah Williams, Kenzly Weddle, Brooklyn Weddle, Brennon Weddle, and Taylor Weddle; great-grandchildren, Daxton Kecev, Coda Gilreath, Kylie Weddle, Kaliope Kecev, Rylie Weddle, Leni Baker, and Kobe Blankenstein; brothers, Carl Taylor and wife Irene and Frank Taylor and wife Debbie; sisters, Edith Dean and husband Lawrence and Barbara Hill and husband Tyler; along with a host of friends and extended family.  

 

A graveside service will be conducted at 10am on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Holston View Cemetery with Pastor Donnie Archer officiating. Music will be provided by Savannah Williams. Pallbearers will be Frank Taylor, Tim Williams, Allen Weddle, Jonathan Hill, Lee Smith, and Brennon Weddle. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50am.  

 

The family would like to thank the staff of the 5th floor ICU at Holston Valley Medical Center for their loving care. 

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Greenwood Chapel Church at 168 Greenwood Drive Nickelsville, VA 24271.  

 

The family will also receive friends anytime at her home.
