Dr. William “Bill” Osborn, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, teacher, and psychologist of Firestone, Colorado passed away peacefully while in memory care on December 7th, 2024 at the age of 84. Born and raised by his mother and grandparents in the Mississippi delta, Bill faced hardship at a young age, but through education, determination, and grace, his life became a testament to the profession of helping others.

After graduating from William Carey College, Bill launched his career as a high school English teacher in Oregon, working alongside his wife, Evelyn, as they shared a deep commitment to education and uplifting their community. Eager to expand his ability to support others, Bill first pursued a Master’s degree at San Jose State University, followed by a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley. This achievement marked the beginning of his lifelong vocation as a psychologist.

For many years, Bill and Evelyn ran a counseling center in southern Mississippi, working together to offer guidance and solace to countless individuals. His work was characterized by Christian beliefs and the potential for growth and healing within everyone.

Upon retiring, Bill relocated to Colorado with Evelyn, where they embraced a slower pace of life filled with cherished hobbies and meaningful connections. Bill found joy in participating in Bible study groups, book clubs, coin collecting, travel, fishing, and games of Mexican dominos with friends. Dear to his heart was spending time with his children and grandchildren. These activities enriched his retirement years, allowing him to share laughter, faith, and camaraderie with those around him.

Bill is predeceased by his devoted wife, Evelyn, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership; his mother Inez, brother Archie, and sister Barbara Jean.

Bill is survived by his children Tonya (Mats), Tara (Michael, part.), and Chad, and chosen family Filo (Johnny). He leaves behind grandchildren Sofia and Noah, chosen grandchildren Lucy (Luke) and Beth (Jared) and their children, as well as distanced grandchildren Nathan, Makenzie, Kain, and Laken.

Bill will be remembered in a private gathering of quiet reflection by family. In lieu of flowers, please make online gifts in memory of William Osborn to the Dementia Society of America www.DementiaSociety.org/donate.

Bill’s legacy of wisdom and guidance will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest now in peace.
