Loretta Grella, age 66, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 22, 2024, surrounded by family at her home in Melbourne, Florida. Loretta was born in Savannah, Georgia and grew up in Hollywood, Florida. She graduated from University of Miami and worked as a diagnostic sonographer for over 20 years. After retiring from the medical field, she was the owner of Downtown Divas boutique in Melbourne for 16 years. She met many people during her time at Divas and truly loved helping her customers feel confident and look their best. She was a founder of Space Coast Ballet Company and spent two decades ensuring that the Nutcracker was a holiday tradition to be celebrated by families throughout Brevard. Loretta was an advocate, particularly for women and those who were down on their luck. She never hesitated to open her home or lend a hand to those in need.

Loretta had a vivacious personality and appetite for adventure. She was generous, kind, fun, fashionable, independent, hard-working, loyal and wise. She made an indelible impact on many. Her travels are too many to list, but some of her favorite trips include climbing through the world’s largest cave in Vietnam with her husband, Michael, meeting the gorillas of Rwanda with her daughter Rachael and hiking the Inca Trail in Peru solo. Loretta was a woman of faith and believed in the power of prayer. She went on several missions trips to share the gospel.

Loretta is survived by her husband Michael Sorbello of Melbourne, Florida, and daughter Rachael Ann Cosgrove (Tom Clinkscales) of Atlanta, Georgia, Alexis Noblitt of Los Angeles, California, who she loved as her daughter, brothers Michael Joseph Grella Jr. (Ruth) of Dawsonville, Georgia and Stephen James Grella (Diane) of Clarksville, Georgia, along with several nieces and nephews. Loretta welcomed her first grandchild Sloane Lillian Clinkscales in April and adored her beyond measure. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Ann Loretta Grella and her sister Linda Grella.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on January 4, 2025, at 12:00p.m. at 1111 Sunny Point Dr. in Melbourne, Florida. Colorful attire encouraged to honor Loretta’s vibrant personality.

Service and burial will follow at 10 a.m on January 11, 2025, at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia. Please sign our guestbook at www.beckmanwilliamson.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan’s Purse at samaritanspurse.org.
