Daniel Lee O'Donnell
April 5th, 1944 - December 22nd, 2024
Daniel Lee O’Donnell, age 80, of the Town of Caroga, NY passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024. Born into a large Irish Catholic family on April 5, 1944, in Gloversville, NY, Daniel was the 3rd child of 10. He was the son of the late Robert Lee O’Donnell and the late Beatrice (Ernst) O’Donnell. He attended Gloversville High School.
As a young man, Daniel lived in New York, Arizona, California and Nevada. He spent 8 years in the Army National Guard. Daniel met his wife Valerie in Arizona, and they made their home in Caroga Lake, NY. Daniel worked in Leathermaking at Colonial Tanning. He was a skilled and knowledgeable contractor and had a keen math mind.
Daniel enjoyed being outdoors and sharing the harvest from his garden. He also enjoyed hunting, marksmanship, and the horse races. He loved cooking for his family and enjoyed a good glass of Chardonnay.
Daniel is preceded in death by his wife, Valerie, son Steven, and brothers Chris, Jeff and Brian. He is survived by his daughters, Maureen and Lisa; his grandchildren, Madyson, Connor, and Nathan; as well as his sisters, Maureen, Kathy, and Mary and brothers, Melvin, Mike and Kim.
A memorial service will be held this summer in Gloversville, time to be announced.
Daniel's care has been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, 12078.
