William "Bill” O'Day was born on September 14, 1941 and died peacefully at home on Hilton Head, SC on December 22, 2024. He was 83 years old. He was born in Yonkers, NY and lived in Attleboro, MA until he was 7 years old. In 1949 his family moved to Rio de Janeiro where he graduated from EARJ, the American School in Rio de Janeiro. He obtained a degree in metallurgical engineering from MIT followed by an MBA from Boston College. Bill worked for a bank in Rio, and then in the mining and plastics industries.

His hobbies were golf and cars. He drove his 1958 Jaguar XK150S and played golf days before his passing. We all enjoyed his great sense of humor and his sincere love for his family and friends. Bill was very active and mostly walked the course when golfing. He inspired a love of golf and engineering in his children and grandchildren. He was an inventor with amazing creativity and drive. He will be deeply missed.

Bill is survived by his wife, Judy O'Day, 3 children, Monica, Alex and Jonathan and 6 grandchildren.
