Jessie Lillian Johnson, 99, widow of the late Harry W. Johnson, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 28, 2024, at her assisted living residence at Bridgepointe, Nicholasville. She was born in Corbin, KY on July 7, 1925, to the late Thelma Martin and Fred Mitchell. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a long-time active member of East Frankfort Baptist Church. She was also an accomplished seamstress and could make anything from clothing to upholstery coverings. She was much loved by family and friends and her spirit and dedication was an inspiration to many.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Anna Mayne (Dr. Jane Brake); son, Jack Johnson (Glenda); Mike, Christa and Mason Goins; and numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Johnson was the last living of all her 11 younger siblings.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 12pm at Clark Legacy Center, Frankfort officiated by Pastor Kyle McDanell and Chaplain Tyler Greene. Visitation will start at 10am until the time of the service. A graveside service will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville. Serving as casket bearers will be Mike Goins, Mason Goins, Jack Johnson, and Tyler Greene. Honorary casket bearers include, Danny Bailey, Adner Lipps, and Ronnie Mayne.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to East Frankfort Baptist Church, or the Franklin County Humane Society.
