Marjorie Bliss Stephenson
January 1st, 1944 - December 24th, 2024
Marjorie Bliss Stephenson of Thornton, CO, was called home to heaven on December 24th at the age of eighty. Beloved by all who knew her, Margie will be remembered for her spirit of kindness, and her unwavering service to the Lord.
Born on January 1st, 1944, in the Canal Zone of Panama, Margie moved with her family to Campbell, CA as a child, where she graduated from Campbell Union High School. She then completed nursing school at Hardin-Simmons University before becoming an officer in the U.S. Air Force, where she served as a flight nurse during the Vietnam War. During her service, she met her beloved husband, Andrew “Steve” Stephenson, whom she married in Tokyo in December of 1969. After being honorably discharged, Margie continued serving with the Air Force Reserves while working full-time as a nurse and raising four children.
Margie had a passion for ministry and service. She loved singing in her church choir, ministering to women in prison, traveling to impoverished countries to help provide clean drinking water, and serving as a sign language interpreter for church services.
She joins her parents, Budd and Eleanor Bliss, in heaven. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Steve; her children, Kevin (Kathy), Ryan (Karen), Allison Millmore (Patrick), and Daniel (Michelle); her siblings, Nola Culley (the late Ken), Jerry Bliss III (Betty Ruth), and Carolyn Vance (Michael); her cherished grandchildren, Stephanie, Paul, Owen, Julie, Andrew and Austin; many adoring nephews and nieces, great-nephews and nieces, and a great-great-nephew and niece.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Life Church, 3400 Industrial Lane, Broomfield, Colorado 80020. The Funeral Service will begin at 10:30am and Military Interment With Honors at 1:30pm Fort Logan National Cemetery 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver, Colorado 80235.
