Carl Nelson Smith of Steilacoom Wa. peacefully passed away on 12/20/24 surrounded by love ones, after a difficult battle with pneumonia and can cancer. Carl Nelson Smith was born April 5th 1967 to Elgelena Smith and Cortez Smith in the bustling city of East St. Louis Il. Carl did attend East St. Louis Senior High School. Relocated to Washington State with family in 1984.

Carl worked at a Community Center while he was trying to see which classes he wanted to purse. He had an interest in Engineering, he would take things apart with he was young to see how it was made, then put it back together. Carl has a quite a since of humor, always telling jokes, he enjoyed walking, martial arts, reading and going to church. 

Carl was a honest and kind person, he was always willing to help anyone that needed help. I will always remember you. Carl was battling with mental illness that prevented him from achieving his dreams. He never married or had children. He was taught at a young age about Jesus and remained a child of God, praying to God, reading his Bible. We celebrate your life today and we have peace knowing you are with our Heavenly Father. We love you and until we meet again, we will think of you often. Gone to soon, but loved always, never forgotten. 

Carl was predeceased by Elgelena Smith mother, Cortez Smith father, Omeisha Smith-Arder niece. Survived by Eugena Stanley sister, Tawanica Prince sister, and a host of cousins and nieces and nephews as well as Great nieces and nephews.
