Beers and Story - South Hadley
Linda Lee Moineau
July 18th, 1949 - January 2nd, 2025
It is with a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Linda Lee Moineau (née Forgette), who departed this life on January 2, 2025, at the age of 75 years, at her home in Chicopee.
Born on July 18, 1949, in Springfield, MA, Linda was a vibrant soul who was loved by all who knew her. She was the beloved daughter of the late Roland and Irene (McCarthy) Forgette and is predeceased by her siblings, Thomas and Gerald Forgette, and Judith Lincourt. Linda's early years were spent in Belchertown, and she later lived in South Hadley for many years before recently settling in Chicopee, where she built a life full of love, laughter, and communal fellowship.
She is survived by her daughter, Terri Defina and her husband John, and her treasured grandchildren, Ryan and Melanie Defina, who brought immense joy to her life. Linda is survived by her brother, Edward Forgette, and her numerous nieces and nephews, including Heidi Forgette-Paul, Christopher and Cameron Paul, Lisa and Matt Swedis, Scott and Tina Lincourt, Steven and Jodi Lincourt, Thomas and Julie Forgette, Christine and Anthony Saccamando, as well as her extended family and close friends.
Linda was known for her active participation in the Chicopee and Holyoke Senior Centers, where she found great companionship in fellow card players, particularly in their spirited pitch league games. Her love of golf and travel brought her great pleasure and further exemplified her zest for life. An avid reader, Linda found escape and wonder in the novels of James Patterson, whom she counted among her favorite authors. A James Patterson quote that speaks to how Linda saw life was, “Good memories are like charms…. Each is special. You collect, one by one, until one day you look back you discover they make a long, colorful bracelet.” Linda had such a bracelet that exemplified her life story.
Visitation will be January 13, 2025 from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home with a funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St Rose Cemetery.
