Leona "Lee" Gill
August 27th, 1937 - January 4th, 2025
Leona (Lee) (Decker) Gill was reunited with her one true love on Saturday, January 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Leona was born August 27, 1937, at home in Indian Lake. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Dorothy (Hauser) Decker. She grew up in Amsterdam where she graduated from Wilber Lynch High School in June 1956.
On January 8, 1956, she married the love of her life, William K Gill. They were blessed with 31 years of marriage until his passing on May 14, 1987.
Leona worked for Templeton Glove, Philbrook’s Market, Keymark Corp., Town of Glen Court and the Village of Fultonville Court before retiring March 2012. She was a member of the New York State Magistrates of Court Clerks. After retiring she enjoyed baking, ceramics, painting, reading, traveling, cruising, and sitting with her feet in the sand at Old Orchard Beach, camping with friends and family. Leona was of the Christian faith. She was a member of the Fonda-Fultonville United Methodist Church where she raised her four children and taught Sunday School. She served as a faithful member of the Tribes Hill Presbyterian Church until closing, when she then returned home to the Fonda-Fultonville Methodist Church.
