In Loving Memory
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jackie Rae Schiltz on January 2, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on April 9, 1956, Jackie was a beloved daughter of Kenneth and Clarise Richardson from Muskegon, Michigan. Jackie’s life was a testament to strength, resilience, and grace, deeply cherished by her family and friends.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Evan Schiltz, and their two daughters, Shannon Crowley (Brandon) and Kristen LaCons (Jesse), who, along with their respective families, brought Jackie immeasurable joy and pride. Her grandchildren, Caleb, Carleigh, Mackenzie, and Lila, were the lights of her life, providing her with boundless happiness and fulfillment.
Jackie's early years were spent in the embrace of her immediate family, alongside her twin sister Jodie Pulsipher, and her younger sister Jerri Baucher. Her familial roots and connections were a cornerstone of her existence and provided a supportive network throughout her life.
A resident of West Columbia, SC, Jackie’s interests were varied and many: she was a fervent reader, found serenity in yard work, and dedicated countless hours to volunteering at the local church. An artistic soul, her quilts and scrapbooks are treasured keepsakes for her loved ones, capturing memories and moments that will now forever hold her spirit.
Despite being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s fifteen years ago, Jackie exhibited immense bravery and determination in her fight against the disease, embracing her journey with courage and grace.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on January 8, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Grace Chapel Church in West Columbia, SC. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m., with interment in the church cemetery.
To honor Jackie’s memory and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made towards Alzheimer’s research, reflecting Jackie’s enduring hope for a better tomorrow for others.
Jackie Rae Schiltz’s legacy of love, resilience, and grace will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. Her memory will be a guiding light, a gentle reminder of the beauty she brought to the world.
