Maria Tsipas

TSIPAS, Maria (Kalyvas) 98, of St. Petersburg, Florida, fell asleep in the Lord on December 27, 2024. Born on March 25, 1926 in Constantinople, Turkey, she immigrated from Greece with her husband, Alexandros, in 1956 to begin her new life in the United States. 

Maria loved the Lord and her Greek Orthodox faith. She was an active member of St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church and the Agape Club ministry. Maria was very close to her nieces and nephew, as well as their children, and was a second mother and grandmother to all of them

Maria was predeceased by her husband, Alexandros; her brother, Michael Kalyvas; and her sister, Katherine Cotsis.  She is survived by her nieces, Eleftheria Paspalis, Polly Serbanos, Sia Stavropoulos, and Vicky Anadiotis; nephew, Tony Kalyvas; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, from 10 to 11 am at St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church, immediately followed by a funeral service and interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church in her memory.>
