Soledad (Shirley) G Villalvilla, 68, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, auntie, cousin and friend passed away Tuesday December 31, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born August 13, 1956 to Eva and Tiburcio Subia in Greeley Colorado, Shirley grew up in the Greeley area and graduated from Greeley West High School where she loved playing her saxophone in the high school marching band.

Shirley moved to the Western slope with her children for 10 years before returning to Greeley to be close to her family.

Throughout her life, Shirley cared for others, first as a CNA and then at Sunrise where she worked for more than 20 years. Shirley was active in her community, participating in LULAC and volunteering for community events such as a free dental clinic, outreach with Sunrise, and the 9 News Health Fair.

Shirley was known to many as a devoted Matriarch who cherished her family more than anything else. Shirley loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, school shopping in the fall, or having a sleepover for the weekend.  Shirley spent countless hours working in her backyard, planting flowers and decorating her yard for family get togethers, her home always open and welcoming. Shirley was known to all and made friends everywhere she went whether it be at work or in line at the grocery store. Shirley had a love for all music and was often the first one on the dance floor, encouraging others to join. Shirley was strong in her faith and dedication as a Jehovah's Witness and carried this faith throughout her life. Shirley was known for her sense of humor and never turned down a chance to make others laugh, leading to the creation of the "Hey Aunt Shirley" page on Facebook where her quick wit and sense of humor is clear.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband Timothy Wigfall, her two children Consuelo (Matt) Villalvilla and Pedro (Katie) Villalvilla and two stepsons Marion (Rachel) Wigfall and Nicholas Wigfall. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Marcos, Alessandra, Eva, Pedro and Noel. Shirley also is survived by her brothers Sonny (Paula) Subia, Robert (Alex) Subia and sister Anabel (Mario) Subia-Diaz as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family who she cherished dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Eva and Tiburcio Subia.
