Geneva Vaughan
March 11th, 1933 - January 2nd, 2025
Geneva Vaughan of Rochester, Washington, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 2, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born on March 11, 1933, in Lepanto Arkansas, Geneva dedicated her life to her family and her faith. She married her husband Carroll Judson Vaughan on July 1, 1950, and they shared 59 years of life together until his passing in November 2009. Geneva lived in several locations throughout her years to include Arkansas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Canada, South Carolina and Washington. The majority of her years being spent in South Carolina and her last 13 years spent in Washington State.
Geneva held various positions over the years to include Secretary and English Teacher. She enjoyed reading, bible study, word searches, dominoes but most of all Geneva enjoyed people, especially close friends and family.
To know Geneva is to love her and we all did! She loved others well and made every person she encountered feel special. Our lives will be dimmer without her here but we have so much to celebrate in a life well lived.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents Terry and Mae Hobson, her husband and her daughter in law Donna Vaughan. She is survived by her children, son Donald, daughter Patricia Hunter and husband Robert, her son Stephen and wife Stephanie, her son David and wife Tamika, and her sister in law, Grace Garrett. Her 9 grandchildren, Denise Vaughan, Darlonna Vaughan, Darryl (Vickie) Vaughan, Darin (Kim) Hunter, Jason (Rebecca) Hunter, Myron (Shaina) Hunter, Daisy Vaughan, John David Vaughan, and Daniel Vaughan. Her 12 great grandchildren, Yeshi Vaughan, Alana Arthur, Hunter (Kayla) Vaughan, Levi Vaughan, Randol Vaughan, Chance Hunter, Trent Hunter, Chase Hunter, Logan Hunter, Clayton Hunter, Megan Hunter and Kyler Hunter.
A celebration of life service will be held at Grace Baptist Church in Rochester, Washington on Saturday, January 18th at 2pm. The family welcomes all family and friends to attend.
