Mary Ann Logan
December 19th, 1935 - January 3rd, 2025
Mary Ann “Kelly” Logan went to heaven on the wings of angels on January 3rd, 2025.
Born December 19th, 1935, in St. Paul MN, she was the daughter of two Irish immigrants Sarah and Stephen Kelly, and oldest of nine siblings. Kelly received her degree in nursing at Anker school of nursing in 1956 in St. Paul, Minnesota, and subsequently completed her BSN at the College of St. Francis. Kelly gravitated to ER nursing where she found her passion and spiritual vocation. There she deeply and positively affected patients from all walks of life. In addition to being a great healer, she was also an outstanding mentor, teaching medical students, nursing students, residents, and paramedics.
After 38 rich years with the Emergency Room, she began her second career at the Ramsey County Detention Center, where she practiced for another 22 years.
Her intellectual rigor, radiance of joy, and demeanor with people earned her the greatest respect from all her colleagues.
She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Logan, parents Stephen and Sarah Kelly, brothers Stephen “Bud” Kelly, Pat Kelly, Robert Kelly, Mike Kelly, and sister Margaret “Noonie” Trowbridge, and special lifelong friend and colleague, Lucy Zimmerman.
She is survived by her five children Judi Logan Winegar (Terry), John Logan, James Logan, Dr. Jacqueline Logan, and Joseph Logan; beloved grandsons Matthew logan, Jake Winegar (Kaley), and Luke Winegar, and great grandson Theo Logan; siblings Kay Vilks (Andy), John Kelly (Jill), and Joe Kelly.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends, Her life was enriched by many people, including colleague and loyal friend Linda Evans, and devoted niece Kristal Hawkins, The family would also like to recognize the magnificent staff at Marvella Assisted Living , who went above and beyond by not just caring for her, but loving her immensely the final 18 months of her life.
Celebration of life will be held in the spring.
