Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services - Ladson
Donna Lynn Johnson
November 30th, 1959 - January 2nd, 2025
To an irreplaceable Mama and Wife:
November 30,1959 the world would be forever changed because of one particular birth in Anderson, SC. Her name was Donna Lynn Lord.
January 2,2025, now Donna Lynn Johnson, would shake the world into a change once again with her passing. She was surrounded by unconditional love from her devout husband, and soul mate, Dean Johnson and her kid pups Mason and Cali.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, January 15th from 12-2pm at Simplicity Lowcountry, Ladson Chapel.
She is survived by, and her legacy lives on through, her husband of 41 years as of February 11, 2025, Dean Johnson. Her daughters Amelia Johnson and Erica Nicholson. As well as her grandchildren Hailey Nicholson, Jackson Nicholson, and Bella Wright. She's also survived by two son-in-laws, Joey Nicholson and Lavar Davis. Finally, she is survived by her pup kids Mason and Cali.
Donna joined the Navy in 1983, originally having dreams of becoming an accountant, God had other plans. During Naval School she encountered a man who would forever change her life for the better, her knight in shining armor, Dean Johnson. They say the best relationships start off as a friendships, Donna and Dean were proof of this. What originally started as study sessions, late night calls, and letters, evolved into a true love story. February 11,1984 Donna Lord became Donna Johnson, the name the stars above always had written for her. Four months later, June 25,1984 a family of two became a family of three with the birth of Amelia Johnson.
Donna finished her obligations to the Navy in 1987, becoming a full time Navy Wife, all while going to college with a little one, which became two little ones as of March 27, 1986 with the birth of Erica Johnson. While being an incredible mother to two girls and a rock solid Navy Wife to Dean Johnson, Donna graduated school for nursing. She may have thought growing up that accounting was what she wanted to do, however God knew what she needed to do. He blessed her with an impeccable desire, a gift really to help and heal any one she came in contact with who was in need. Donna continued her calling in nursing as an RN for more than 20 years, working in almost every field from pediatrics to home health.
After her journey of being an active nurse ended, she still had the gift in her heart. ONCE A NURSE ALWAYS A NURSE. She was the one that her daughters called when they became mothers themselves. "Mama, this is going on what should I do?" And she was always there with the right answer and calm demeanor.
After she was no longer working for a company she continued with her family. Her skills with numbers were utilized, handling finances for the home. Ensured her husband never went hungry. Donna, ever the organizer, made sure all appointments were scheduled and plans for the holidays were arraigned.
For 40, almost 41 years, the most beautiful achievement was her marriage. Donna and Dean are a rarity. Kisses were still given, hugs were still executed, and I love yous were still stated.
She will always be alive through memories shared and the endless love she gave.
We will always ensure there's Diet Pepsi and forever give you the flower off the cake.
