Edwin "Ronnie" Ronald Davis, Sr.
March 9th, 1941 - December 26th, 2024
Edwin Ronald Davis, Sr., (Ronnie) passed away at the Lexington Community Hospice House in Lexington, South Carolina, on December 26, 2024, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Ronnie was born on March 9, 1941, in Walterboro, South Carolina, to Rev. A. Orie and Violet Davis. He grew up in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and graduated from Orangeburg High School in 1959. Ronnie had a twenty-seven-year civil service career with the U.S. Navy at the Charleston Naval Base as a planner estimator. He was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church in Orangeburg, where he ran the sound system. Ronnie retired to Cayce, South Carolina, and was a member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church. Ronnie enjoyed cars, photography, and handyman projects, but he will most be remembered for his loving devotion to his wife and sons as well as his wonderful sense of humor.
Ronnie leaves behind his wife of sixty-two years, Doris Davis of Cayce; a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Cindy Davis of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; a son and son-in-law, Steve Davis and Bradley Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; and a grandson, Harrison Williams of Atlanta. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Charlene Davis and Donna Davis.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Transfiguration Lutheran Church, 1301 12th St, Cayce, SC 29033 with the Rev. Alex Twedt officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 4830 Columbia Rd NE, Orangeburg, SC 29118.
