Curtis Albert Young Sr., born on May 2, 1935, in Greenville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 88.
Curtis spent his early years in Greenville before moving to Baltimore, Maryland, during his childhood. In West Baltimore, he established deep roots and became a cherished member of the community. Known for his love and courage, Curtis created lasting memories with those closest to him and left an indelible mark on both his family and the neighborhood he called home.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Carolyn Young; five children: three daughters, Angela, Loretta, and Carolyn; and two sons, Curtis Albert Young Jr. and Kirk Young. Curtis was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: four granddaughters—Ashiya, Kennay, Meagan, and Angela—and three grandsons—Kenneth, Cedric, and Kyree. His legacy continues through his great-grandson Cayden.
Curtis will be remembered as a man who deeply valued family and community. His life was a testament to resilience and love, qualities that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
May his memory bring comfort to all who were touched by his presence.
