March 14th, 1934 - January 3rd, 2025
Glenna Christie Morgan Aylor age 90 of Arlington, VA was called to her heavenly home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 3, 2025. Glenna was born on March 14, 1934, in Savannah, GA. Her family moved to Arlington, VA when she was a young child and she graduated from Washington-Lee High School in 1952.
She married Albert S. Aylor (Albie) and they raised their family in Arlington, VA. Glenna is survived by her sons, Bret M. Aylor (Laurie) and Wade E. Aylor (Christine) and grandchildren Austin W. Aylor (Nicholle), Ryan C. Aylor (Ashley), Morgan C. Clark (JC), and David C. Aylor (Rachel). She was preceded in death by her Husband Albert S. Aylor, Father William Morgan and Mother Mattie Morgan and brothers William Morgan, Alfred Morgan and Edward Morgan and sisters Mary Lee Allen and Martha Robinson. She is survived and loved by many nieces and nephews.
Glenna lived in Arlington, VA for 84 years. She was a very active mother and often played basketball and board games with her sons. She especially loved playing Scrabble and working on puzzles. She loved to bead and made many beautiful pieces of jewelry. She loved to sew and made her sons suits and coats. She also made her grandchildren many beautiful outfits. She loved to bake and shared her tasty chocolate chip and peanut butter blossom cookies at Christmas time. She loved to travel and visited many places around the world. She also participated in many Washington-Lee High School reunions.
Glenna loved her grandchildren and they adored her. She would spend summers with her grandchildren in Texas and time with her grandchildren in Arlington.
She attended Cherrydale Baptist Church and loved to spread the word of God whether at the doctor’s office, the store, or to Uber drivers. She participated in a Women’s group and loved being with women who loved the Lord.
In lieu of flowers if you choose, please donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Operation Christmas Child.
Visitation will be Friday, January 24, 2025, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Advent Funeral Home.
Funeral will be held at Cherrydale Baptist Church on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM followed by lunch at 11:00 AM.
Burial will be at Columbia Gardens Cemetery at 1:00 PM at 3411 Arlington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201
