Sharon Ann (Bayly) Wisniewski, born January 25, 1950, passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of January 7, 2025. Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Raymond, and her two sons, Christoper (married to Jennifer) and Gregg, (married to Jessica), as well as her four grandchildren: Oscar, Clara, Emma, and Olivia.

Sharon was born in Hyattsville, MD, and grew up in the greater DC area, with her family, the eldest of five siblings. She was an avid lover of all art and education, as she pursued her passion in both areas and became an elementary school teacher after attending Towson State College, currently named Towson University.

In 1968, Sharon met the love of her life at a mixer in Baltimore, Maryland. Four years later, she married Raymond and in 1974, they moved to Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania, where they raised their sons and built strong ties within the community. She spent her life doing what she loved, teaching art to children, many of whom would later encounter her as adults and tell her how profound an impact she had on their life. This love of children carried over later in life when she became an amazing grandmother to her four grandchildren, all of whom loved spending time with her and will miss her so much.

In addition to her passion for art and education, she was a faithful Catholic and had a strong presence within the church community. Sharon had a way about her that could make a stranger feel like an old friend, and she brought so much joy and calmness to so many people she crossed paths with. She referred to her church community as her prayer warriors and spent countless hours praying with and for others.

Sharon believed deeply in the power of prayer, and she knew that asking for God to put the right people into one’s life was of the utmost importance. Despite knowing this, we think she vastly underrated how many times she was in fact the right person for so many during her life and will continue to be so, even now that she is in Heaven. She had a profound impact on so many more people than just our family, and she truly will be missed. We love you, always and forever.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, January 13th at Church of the Nativity, located at 1061 Folly Rd, Charleston, South Carolina, 29142.

In lieu of the flowers, Sharon has requested that donations be made to St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church of New Freedom, Pennsylvania, or Mepkin Abbey of Moncks Corner, South Carolina. https://www.sjbnf.org/ https://mepkinabbey.org/
