Mary Dollarhite Willard, 95, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2025.

A native of Stuart, VA, Mary was the wife of the late Virgil Carl “V.C.” Willard, Jr. and the daughter of Jesse Reid Dollarhite and Lucy Powell Dollarhite, both deceased. Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a long-time member of Pisgah United Methodist Church and loved her church family dearly. Mary was very fond of animals especially her little squirel, Bushy Tail, that often visited her for a cookie eaten right out of her hand. She also enjoyed her visits from her great grandson Daniel and Kristen's little dog, Max.

Survivors include her son, Arlin Dowell Sechrist and wife, Anita; two grandsons, Arlin Dale Sechrist and wife, Barbara, and Timothy Wayne Sechrist; five great grandchildren, Arlin Daniel Sechrist and wife, Kristen, Noah Wayne Sechrist, Allie Morgan Atkins and husband, Ethan, Jonah Sechrist, and Micah Sechrist; two sisters, Mildred Smith and husband, Ernest, and Lucy Moore and husband, M.K. Moore; and expecting two great-great grandchildren March of 2025.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Owen Timothy Sechrist; daughter-in-law, Abby Sechrist; and nine brothers. 

Funeral services celebrating Mary’s life will be held at 2:00PM Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel with pastor Bill Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory, Kernersville, NC. The family will greet friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM Monday prior to the service in the chapel.
