Clinton L. Weaver, Sr. passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on December 22, 2024. He was surrounded by his wife and children in his Olympia home. He was born on January 9, 1933 in Aberdeen, WA and graduated from Elma High School in 1952. After a 2 year stint in the Navy, he married Myrna Sexton in 1956. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage and raised a family of 6 children in Shelton, WA.

Clint worked for Simpson Timber Company in McCleary and Shelton for over 40 years, mostly in the fire department. He was also a volunteer firefighter in Mason County for 20 years. After retirement, Clint and Myrna formed Weaver Seafoods on Hammersley Inlet, where they grew geoducks, clams and oysters for commercial use.

Clint built the family home in Shelton where he and Myrna raised their children. He enjoyed fishing, building, boating, traveling and playing Santa every year at Christmas. He was a hard working, honest man who always had a funny remark and a twinkle in his eye. He didn’t have an enemy and could find something to talk about with anybody he met.

In their later years, Clint and Myrna spent winters in Lake Havasu, AZ, where Clint was referred to as “The Lifeguard” at the condo pool. He didn’t save any lives, but he made a lot of friends and always found someone to talk to.

Clint was very proud of his pioneer heritage as a great grandson of Michael T. Simmons, who founded Tumwater and led the first wagon train into what would become Washington State. He loved attending family reunions and was always there to provide help with cooking the oysters and clams. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Clint is survived by his wife, Myrna of Olympia and his 6 children: Lisa (Tom) Bunnell, Beverly (Tim) Boyd, Teri (Jeff Freimund) Weaver, Clint, Jr (Rhonda) Weaver, Tammy (Craig) Laser, and Ron Weaver, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by all his siblings, his grandson, Jacob Weaver, and his great grandson, Miles Atkinson.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Clint on February 8, 2025, 1-4 PM at the Arcadia Firehall in Shelton, WA.
