Robert "Rob" Craig Rabe

Robert (Rob) Craig Rabe, age 62, of Greeley, Colorado was received into glory by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 8, 2025.  Rob was born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 21, 1962 to Donald and Kathryn (Cowton) Rabe.  Rob graduated from Indianola High School in Indianola Iowa in 1980.  On November 15, 1980 Rob was a passenger in a car accident, in Ankeny Iowa that would change his life and the life of those around him forever.  Rob received therapy at Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado under the care of Dr Cilo and was discharged in 1984. During his time at Craig Dr Cilo encouraged his mother to start a facility like Craig in Iowa for patients who had sustained head injuries like Rob. In 1987 Rob’s mom Kathy and her husband Fran, Rob and a group of dedicated people started On With Life, an acute head injury treatment center dedicated to providing the best care for their clients and support for their loved ones.  

 In 1983 Rob accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and from then on Rob’s purpose in life was to glorify God with his life doing his Father’s will. 

In 1983 Rob received the Craig Bradley Memorial Scholarship which helped with continuing his education at Metropolitan State College where he graduated with a Bachelor of  Science in Human Services in 1991.  In 1993 Rob graduated from University of Northern Colorado with a Masters in Rehab Counseling.  While getting his degree he had an internship at Greeley Center for Independence and met Hope Cassidy.  

In 1994 he worked at Colorado Springs Rehabilitation Hospital as a Rehab counselor and case manager where he met Jeanne Peters.  They started dating in 1995 and Rob married the love of his life on March 2, 1996. 

In 1997 Hope convinced him to move to Greeley to run Camelot Apartments and North Colorado Therapy Center which later changed it’s name to Hope Therapy Center.  In 2010 Rob and Hope opened Stephen Farm Residential Head Injury Campus.  A home where those who suffered traumatic heads injuries could lead happy, productive, purposeful lives volunteering in the community and working at jobs they loved. In 2016 Rob retired and continued working as a consultant for Adeo until his death. 

Rob’s life has continued to glorify the Lord. He submitted totally and completely to do the work his Father called him to do in helping give meaning to the life of those who might have otherwise been in nursing homes or on the streets.  Rob’s legacy will continue to live on through all the lives made productive regardless of disability.  All because Rob, in his wheelchair and with all his struggles, said yes to everything the Lord asked him to do no matter how impossible it seemed.  Nothing is impossible with God. 

Rob is survived by his loving wife Jeanne and 3 fur babies, Roscoe P, Barney and Grace. His mother Kathryn Herring (Merrill Butler), Brother Pastor Jeff (Sue) Rabe, sister Cyndi (Stan) Ripperger, step brothers Gary(Linda) Herring and Randy Herring.  Sister in laws, Carol (Randy Rigg) Smith, Linda (Jim) Macer and Julie Peters. Rob is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.  He was proceeded in death by Donald Rabe, Fran Herring, In laws Ed and Helen Peters .
