Elizabeth "Bet" Studdert Frassineti
September 5th, 1932 - January 8th, 2025
Elizabeth "Bet" Studdert Frassineti, the daughter of the late William Walton Studdert and Margaret Bragaw Studdert, passed away on January 8, 2025. She was 92 years old.
Bet was born in Elizabeth City, NC on September 5, 1932, and graduated from Midland High School in Midland, TX in 1950. She earned a degree in History from the University of Texas at Austin in 1954. In 1958 she pursued further studies in History at UNC Chapel Hill, where she met her husband, Jordan J. Frassineti. They were married for 39 years and had three children together.
Bet was deeply involved in the Greensboro community. She was a devoted member of St. Francis Episcopal Church, where she had worshipped since 1959. She tirelessly contributed to the St. Francis book drive and was part of the team that created the beautiful communion altar kneelers, which still adorn the church today. She also served on the executive council of the Blandwood Carriage House Restoration and held several volunteer roles with The Junior League of Greensboro.
Bet was blessed with many interests and talents. She had a passion for tennis, frequently attending the U.S. Open in New York City and enjoying weekly doubles matches with her closest friends.
She also had an adventurous spirit. At age 60, she went on a hot air balloon ride; at age 70, she embarked on her first white-water rafting adventure; and at age 80, she went zip-lining for the first time ever with her son Bill. Her son Jeff cherishes memories of their dinners together at her favorite restaurants, Green Valley Grill and the Greensboro Country Club. The family also shared many cherished trips to Italy, England, France, and the beaches of North Carolina.
Bet is preceded in death by her husband, Jordan Joseph Frassineti, and her daughter, Margaret Frassineti Kreglewic. She is survived by her sons, Jordan Joseph Frassineti Jr. and William (Bill) Studdert Frassineti, and his wife, Pamela Padgett Frassineti.
The family will hold a private service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4615 Dundas Drive, Unit 103 Greensboro, NC 27407.
