Peter Andrew Turnbull
February 20th, 1953 - December 8th, 2024
Peter Andrew Turnbull, born in Memphis in 1953, died in his sleep December 8, at the age of 71, with his wife by his side. He was a career journalist, who served as an editor at Scripps Howard News Service in Washington, DC, up until he suffered a severe stroke in 2005. His love of books and music, his kind heart and generosity, and the warmth and love of his family and friends, enabled him to survive with his disability for 19 years. He is survived by his wife, Vivi Spicer; his three sisters, Stephanie Chaney (Memphis), Lucia King and her husband, Bill (Luray, VA), Jessica Buchignani (Williston, TN); and his dog, Shelby. There will be a green burial at Congressional Cemetery in Washington, DC. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to your favorite charity.
