Linda Grace Lindsey, age 79, passed away on January 6, 2025.
Linda was born on VE day – May 8, 1945 – in Milwaukee, WI to Harry and Grace (Lingwall) Chudy. She lived in Dayton, OH for many years before moving to the Phoenix area in 1994. She was proud of earning her nursing degree later in life and she practiced for several decades before retiring with her love, Bernd Hasenkamp, who she married in 2019. She loved horseback riding, her dogs, anything science fiction, shopping for a good deal, and was a voracious reader.
She is survived by her husband, sister Jeanne (Alan) LaVoy, daughter Cindy Ashforth, granddaughters Grace, Natalie, and Ryann, nephews John and Jeffrey Kenkel, stepdaughter Wendy (Ian) Hasenkamp and stepson Brian (Carla) Hasenkamp and their sons Kyle and Elijah. She is preceded in death by her parents, her late husband James Lindsey, and her brothers Tom and Jim Chudy.
At Linda’s request, no service will be held. Donations may be made to the Maricopa County Humane Society, from where she and Bernd adopted two wonderful dogs.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley for the care and compassion offered to Linda during her time of need.
