Harold Dean Wilson
November 15th, 1932 - January 6th, 2025
Harold Dean Wilson, 92 of Nampa passed away Monday, January 6, 2025 at homeafter a 26 year battle with congestive heart failure. Harold was born on November 15, 1932 in Cumberland, Wisconsin to John (Jack) and Magdelina (Helen) Wilson. He grew up in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Then joined the Navy in 1950, where he served in the Korean conflict. That is where he learned to dive, weld and weld underwater and work with sheet metal. These skills would prove to serve him well in his livelihood for many years to come. He married Joan Donahue in 1955 and they had twin girls, Patricia and Marie. After divorcing Joan, he married Mary Frances Levesque in 1961. Beverly Ann, his stepdaughter was then 2 years old. His only son, James Fredrick Wilson was born in 1961, after the family had relocated to Hopkins, Minnesota. This is where his first business was established as Wilson Iron Works. A tornado wiped out a large sectionof their subdivision in February, 1964. That is when Harold decided to move the family away from this danger and went out West to settle in southern Idaho. He chose the Gem state due to the more desirable weather conditions and the many opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities that were his lifelong loves: fishing, hunting, camping and riding motorcycles in the mountains. He moved the family from Boise to Twin Falls in 1967, where he worked for Farley Steel on construction of several of the buildings at the College of Southern Idaho. After this project was completed, he moved the family back to Boise and opened Boise Iron Works. There he specialized in ornamental iron railings, columns and furniture, as well as structural steel. Later in life, he also worked at Crookham Seed Company, Simplot, AI Heating and Liberty Heating where he did sheet metal work. He also was involved in a favorite project of his later years with the Kid's First Cast Program. He greatly enjoyed preparing poles, repairing reels and assembling bait packs for children to enjoy learning the valuable life skill of fishing. He met Cindy Clancy in 1976. He soon found that she was to be the love of his life. They were life partners until the day he died. They traveled, hunted, fished and camped together for as many years as his health would allow. He was very happy and fulfilled during these years. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Magdelina Wilson, sisters Florence King, Delores Johnson and his brother Robert Wilson. He is survived by his love and life partner, Cindy Clancy as well as his sister Leone Dimler, daughters Patricia Hughes, Marie Michaelson, Beverly Hall, and his only son, James Wilson. He is also survived by multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family recommends memorial donations to be made to Kid;s First Cast, P O Box 555, Bridger, MY 59014
