In Loving Memory
Dallas Guy Kesler passed away suddenly on January 7, 2025, at the age of 33. Dallas grew up in Kernersville, NC, attended Piney Grove Elementary, Kernersville Middle School and East Forsyth High School.
He received Bachelor of Science degrees in math and chemistry from Guilford College and a Masters in Nano-Chemistry at the UNCG/NCA&T Joint School of Nano Science and Nano Engineering. After a successful career at Syngenta in Greensboro, Dallas moved to Durham, NC to work on cutting edge RNA technology for Green Light Biosciences at RTP.
Dallas was a joy to be around, known for his sharp wit and sense of humor. He loved playing all types of games with friends and family. He played pathfinder and other role-playing games weekly with close friends. He loved to read fantasy, science fiction and dystopian novels. Had become a stylophile, with a large collection of fountain pens and unique writing instruments, inks and papers.
Dallas is survived by his parents Roger and Cathy Kesler, his loving sister Liza Kesler and her partner Katie Tyler and his partner of 10 years, Chassidy Crump, as well as his beloved dog Roscoe. He also leaves behind his cousins Eleyna Morris (Sam) and Marty Kesler (Christa) and aunts Barbara Black, Bonnie Lacey, Brenda Finley (Howard) and Dorothy Kesler as well as his uncle’s Mike Parrott and Randy Kesler. He was predeceased by his grandparents Arlin and Shirley Parrott and Guy and Loutrell Kesler.
He was smart, funny and a joy to all who knew him. He loved his work and was a very successful chemist valued by both Syngenta and Green Light. However, after a bout with colon cancer, he fell into depression and sadness that he could not overcome. Sadly, he elected to end his own life. Dallas was very loved and will be missed by his friends, coworkers and family.
A celebration of life and reception will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel.
