Gloria Frances “Fran” (Duran) Myatt was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed peacefully from this world on Christmas Eve, December 24th, 2024, at age 87.

She was born to William Allyn and Eva Mae (Osborne) Duran on February 24, 1937, in Antlers, Oklahoma. Although she was born in Oklahoma, she was raised in Heppner, Oregon where her father’s family was located. She attended Heppner schools, played the French horn and trombone in the Heppner High, and played on the school’s girls’ softball and volleyball teams.

After graduating from Heppner High School, she married former U. S. Air Force sergeant David J. Myatt, from nearby Condon Air Force Base, and moved to Coquille, Oregon, where David obtained employment as a lumber mill worker.

Fran’s children Jonathan David and Gayla Lynn were born in Oregon, and in late 1959, David and Fran moved south to Mokelumne Hill, California, when David was hired to work at the expanding lumber mill in Sutter Hill. They added two more children to their family when Deborah Joy and Cheryl Kay were born in Jackson, Calif.

In the following years, Fran and David would move to Sutter Creek, Drytown, and eventually, in 1976, build their home on “Myatt’s Mountain” in Fiddletown. They moved to Plymouth in 2014.

Fran worked many jobs during her life. Among them was as a housekeeper for families in Sutter Creek, a clerk at the old Montgomery Wards catalogue store, and bookkeeper for Kit Carson Lodge and Campground during summer vacation seasons. She was active in their church, the Generation Life Church on Latrobe Road, and served as board member and bookkeeper for many years. Along the way, Fran continued her education and fulfilled the requirements for becoming a minister in the Assembly of God denomination and was ordained as an assistant pastor.

Fran is survived by son, Jonathan Myatt and wife LaDonna Seeley of Eugene, Oregon; her daughters, Gayla and husband Gaylord Gonzalez of Jackson, CA, Deborah and husband Wade Jackson of Plymouth, CA; grandchildren Kara Rose Myatt of Bristol, Connecticut, Jonathan Myatt, Jr., William K. Myatt of Virginia, Amber and Chris Garduno of Jackson, CA, Vanessa and Bart Yochheim, of Lake Tahoe, CA, Christian and Stefan Rand of Naperville, Illinois, Sara and Luis Rojelio of Pollock Pines, CA, and Chelsea and Jesse Colby, of Pine Grove; and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David, parents, William and Eva Mae Duran, daughter Cheryl Kay Sheridan, and grandson Matthew Wolin.

The memorial service was held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Fiddletown Community Church, followed by a graveside service at the Fiddletown Cemetery.
