Dennis Paul Hobbs
September 24th, 1947 - January 13th, 2025
Dennis P. Hobbs, 77, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away at his home on January 13, 2025.
Born in Kansas City, MO to Cleo and Alice (Banks) Hobbs, Dennis was the fourth of six children. With the steadfast support of his mother, he earned the distinction of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from Van Horn High School in Independence, MO, and later obtained his college degree from the University of Missouri after proudly serving in the US Army.
In 1969, Dennis married Dianne Lampton, and together they spent 55 wonderful years building a life full of love, adventure, and accomplishments.
Dennis had a successful career, working for Marion Laboratories Pharmaceutical in Kansas City, MO, where he excelled in Materials Management. He eventually moved to Colorado and established his own company, becoming an expert in manufacturing systems. He wrote and published two books on manufacturing, one of which was translated into Russian. His work took him across the globe, collaborating with companies to improve their systems. A highlight of his travels was spending a year in Egypt, a country he deeply loved, as well as time spent in Belarus, one of his favorite places.
Dennis was not only a successful professional, but also a devoted family man. He and Dianne raised three children: twins Brian and Jon, and their daughter Mindy. Whether watching his sons play baseball or attending Mindy’s dance recitals, Dennis was always there to support and encourage them. He took great pride in helping guide them into becoming successful individuals in their own lives.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Dianne; sons, Brian (Mutiara) Hobbs of Thornton, CO and Jon (Katherine) Hobbs of West Hartford, CT; and six grandchildren, Haley and Sam Bollman of Denver, CO, Andrew and Alex Hobbs of West Hartford, CT, and Amelia and Natalie Hobbs of Thornton, CO. He also leaves behind three siblings, Laura Jo Allen (Joseph) of Ocala, FL, Tally Hobbs (JoLynn) of Leawood, KS, and Gordon Hobbs of Garnett, KS, along with numerous other beloved family members and friends, including his precious dog, Annie.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Mindy Hobbs and his brothers, Robert and William Hobbs.
A Visitation will take place from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2025 at Adamson with a Life Celebration following at 12’noon. Interment 2:30 p.m. Monday at Fairmount Cemetery in Denver, CO.
