Mark K Hyatt
October 25th, 1960 - January 8th, 2025
Mark K Hyatt, born October 25, 1960, in Long Island, New York and grew up in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Mark is survived by his 3 children Max Hyatt, Samuel Hyatt, Sophie Hyatt and his 5 sisters Lynne Hyatt, Miriam Hyatt, Leslie Hyatt Belack, Inga Hyatt and Brooke Hyatt. Mark's parents were Barry Hyatt and Anne Kelly Hyatt of Astoria, NYC.
Mark began playing French Horn in 4th grade. In high school he won a full 5-week scholarship to the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts at Bucknell University in the summer of 1977. Mark also was heavily into photography in high school. He designed and bult his own darkroom in his parents’ basement. He was the high school band photographer and contributed photos to the high school yearbook. Mark also did photography work for United Press International in Pittsburgh.
PA Governor’s School for the Arts was a life-changing experience for Mark. He pursued a degree in music education at Duquesne University with a 50% scholarship. Mark was also a member of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra. Mark eventually transferred to Clarion University, now Pennsylvania Western University. Mark became heavily involved in television production at the University’s television station. Mark achieved his BA in Music Marketing.
Mark used his musical talents working as a commercial broadcast producer at several advertising agencies creating high-end national spots in Pittsburgh and NYC. He received local, national and international awards for his work. Mark transitioned to work at several local television stations as a writer producer director videographer editor where he also achieved local, regional and national awards for his work.
Mark felt by far his greatest pride and joy are his 3 children Max, Samuel and Sophie he had with his ex-wife Natalie Bloom Hyatt.
