Frederick "Fred" Schleicher
August 14th, 1932 - January 12th, 2025
Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation.
Fred was born on August 14th , 1932, in Waite Park MN, to Herman and Clara (Baggenstoss)Schleicher. He married Lois Theis in 1952, and they spent 61 years together raising 4 childrenand enjoying time with family and friends. They lived in St. Cloud, MN until 1986 when theymoved to Lincoln, NE to follow Fred's Burlington Northern job. Shortly after his retirement in1994, they moved to Phoenix, AZ. Fred was a hard worker and dedicated 42 years as a carman at Burlington Northern. In retirement, he spent several years at Fry’s bagging groceries, pushing carts and taking care of the many repeat customers who wanted to make sure that Fred was the one who helped them. Fred was passionate and competitive in everything he did, from his many years playing softball, bowling, or even a simple game of 500 or Skat. He made countless memories along the way which he could recall in fine detail, bringing back all the feelings as if they had happened just yesterday. Fred loved to watch all sports and was loyal to his Minnesota teams no matter where he lived. Fred was meticulous about how things ought to be. From his daily routines to completing tasks at work, to enjoying an occasional slot machine, he had a knack for keeping everything in order, just the way he liked it. His playful yet intentional presence will surely be missed. He is survived by his 4 children: Tom (Jan) Schleicher of St. Cloud MN; Steve (Janice)Schleicher of St. Cloud, MN; Vicki Schroeder of Blaine, MN; and Tammie (Vince) Woolgar, ofGettysburg, PA; six grandchildren: Kory, Dana, Tim, Ryan, Brittany and Madison; 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings Irene Seefeldt, Herman Jr. (Barb), Janet Kulla, and Donna Kremers.Fred was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lois; his siblings Archie, Alice Karnik,Loretta Dullinger, Hobie; his son-in-law Darrel Schroeder; his granddaughter-in-law MichelleSchroeder and his granddaughter Ashley Ellyn Woolgar. Fred will be cremated at Wyman Cremation & Burial Chapel.
