It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Joshua Tyler Ramirez, 34, born December 30th, 1990 and gone too soon on January 7th, 2025. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend.

Joshua is survived by his family including: Mother Debbie, Father Ernie, Stepmom Shannon (PK), Grandpa Art (Linda), Grandma Connie (Bob), siblings Matthew, Rob (Heather), Brandon, Cassandra (Brian), Brittany (Gio), Maddy, Mason (Emersyn), Jocelyn and Jonathan - honorary siblings Loren, Alex, Jesse, Ian, RJ, Wyatt. As well as his nieces and nephew, Jazmine, Lily and Mateo. He is reunited in the afterlife with his brother Jake, Grandfather Luciano, Grandmother Tita and Grandfather Dave.

Since his childhood, Joshua was actively involved in all sports including football, baseball, wrestling, basketball, track and field. As he became an adult, the joy of playing evolved into coaching. He spent time coaching at the Gig Harbor YMCA and alongside his father, he coached his younger brother's little league team. Before his passing, he was visited by several of the players he coached, now all adults themselves, who reflected that the seasons coached by Josh were the most successful. He kept up with professional football and was dedicated to his fantasy football league.

Josh had a remarkable talent for working with his hands and an enthusiasm for learning new skills. He loved working with his family on home DIY projects. As a journeyman commercial glazier, he took great pride in his craft with precision and dedication. He also cherished his role as a temporary high school sports commentator, where his energy and love for the game brought moments to life for the fans.  He was also an avid guitar player with a deep passion for music, collecting vinyl records and with dreams of starting his own production company.

Josh’s warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew him. Though his time with us was far too short, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the countless lives he enriched.

Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services

Hill Funeral Home has been a community cornerstone since 1908, when Ernest Newville Hill, a decorated Spanish American War veteran and embalmer/funeral director, established his own funeral business in Puyallup. Starting in a two-story building on North Meridian, where he lived with his wife Mabel and their son Vernon, Ernest Hill introduced the first motor-powered funeral coaches in Pierce County, transitioning from traditional horse-drawn services....
