November 25th, 1940 - January 10th, 2025
Frieda Schelske, dearly loved wife, mother, Nana and sister, went to be with her Lord and Savior, lovingly surrounded by her family on January 10, 2025, following a long battle with dementia at the age of 84 in Loveland, Colorado. She was born on November 25, 1940 to Flavio and Trinidad “Trini” (Baca) Archuletta in Amalia, New Mexico. She was raised in Pueblo, Colorado. She was married to Robert A. Quintana from 1959 – 1970. Frieda met William “Bill” Schelske in Colorado Springs, Colorado while he served in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Carson. They married on October 7, 1972, and soon after, moved to Twin Lake, Michigan and resided there for the next 50 years. Bill preceded her in death on February 26, 2024.
Frieda was a dedicated and valued employee to GTE/Verizon Phone Company, and retired after a long and successful career in 2003. She was intelligent, caring, a fabulous cook, creative, and quick witted. Her one-liners are legendary among her grandkids. She loved sewing, crafts, crossword puzzles, and traveling, but most of all, she loved the Lord and her family. She will be dearly missed and yet her family has great peace in knowing she is with Jesus.
