Mary "Mitzi" A. Proulx
September 28th, 1934 - January 16th, 2025
Mary "Mitzi" A. (Mann) Proulx, passed away on January 16, 2025, at Sixteen Acres Healthcare Center. Born in Holyoke, MA, on September 28, 1934.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Germain "Jerry" Proulx, and parents, Edward and Mary (Ilnicky) Mann. Mary leaves behind her two daughters, Angie Axsom and her husband Kelcie of Belchertown, and Marianne Proulx of Granby. She is also survived by her siblings: Tommy Mann and wife Donna, Patricia Harvey, Jean Flores and husband Fransico and Patrick Mann and wife Pam. Her enduring love continues in her six grandchildren, Shana Stone and her companion Johnny Stone, Serenna Proulx, Nicole Recor and Gary Lefebvre, Kyle Axsom and Kelcie Axsom and his companion Taylor Sutherland, 6 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Edward and Randall Mann.
Mitzi's co-owned and operated Jerry's Lunch in Holyoke, a community fixture that she ran with her husband Jerry for many years. Later, she dedicated her time as a housekeeper, working until her retirement at Mt. Holyoke College, and previously at Perpetual Help Rectory in Holyoke.
Mitzi's passions included her adoration for her children, grandchildren, her cats & dogs and her love of dancing.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 24th at 10:00am at St. Jerome's Church in Holyoke, followed by burial at St. Rose De Lima cemetery in Chicopee. Please meet directly at the church.
