Ret. SMSgt Thomas Edward Terrell
June 17th, 1948 - December 13th, 2024
Ret. SMSgt Thomas Edward Terrell, 76, of Melbourne passed peacefully at home on December 13th 2024. As he did many things in his life he did it “His way”, surrounded by his loving family, outside in the open air. Tom was born June 17th 1948 to Marion and Francis Terrell in Binghamton, N.Y., where he grew up playing baseball and running track until joining the Air Force and serving his country for 24 years. He loved and honored his country continuing to work for the government. Tom was a very proud, hardworking man that never quit or gave up on anything.
Tom is survived by his wife, Karen; his two daughters, Michelle Ringleb and her husband, Ray, and Lisa Barroso and her husband, Josh; his two sons, Christopher Zylstra and his wife, Kim, and Thomas A. Terrell and his wife, Lindsay, and predeceased by son, Aaron Zylstra, raised grandson, Brandon Lawson; eight grandchildren, Kiana, Gabriel, McKenna, Emily, Aaron, Airalynn, Chayse, and Zeke; his brother, Richard Terrell and his wife, Kay Terrell.
This country says goodbye to a dedicated veteran and we say farewell to a loving supportive husband, father, family member, a friend who was a leader and a godfather to all. We’ll miss you but know you’re peacefully swinging your club on a heavenly course while energetically cheering on those fighting Irish and the New York Yankees. May you rest in peace my love!
A graveside services will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, Florida 32754. January 21, 2025 at 1:00 pm. All are welcome to bid farewell. If attending the graveside service please arrive at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery by 12:45 pm in Lane A.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ROTC or Air Force Scholarship Foundation.
