Barbara L Houghton, 92, of Syracuse, NY, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, peacefully in her sleep.  Barbara was born in Connecticut, later moving to the Syracuse area. Before retiring,  Barbara worked as a word processor for Kemper Insurance for 20 years,. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes church for over 70 years and volunteered by visiting the sick and homebound from her parish. She enjoyed family picnics at their camps in Alexandria Bay and on Jamesville Reservoir. 

 

Barbara was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert after 70 years of marriage.

 

She is survived by her four children, Howard (Kathy) Houghton, Donna Greene, Gary (Mary) Houghton and Steven  (Darlene) Houghton, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

 

Services will be held at Our Lady of Hope parish on Wednesday Jan. 22 at 10:30AM followed by mass at 11:30AM.

Burial will be in Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to The Rescue Mission or Our Lady of Hope Church.
