Peter Charles “Jose” Sweeting, 48, passed on Jan. 8th 2025. He was loved by so many. Pete was born in Syracuse to Sandy Sweeting on Nov. 18, 1976. Growing up he was heavily involved in multiple sports.  He graduated from Tully High School in 1994. The highlight of his athletic career was being named MVP Quarterback of the all-star football game at the Dome. As an adult he enjoyed playing golf with family and friends. Pete trained and showed horses with his family all over the north east. During this time he won numerous awards in horse shows. He was a long standing member of the PTHA. Pete was an avid sportsman. Enjoying hunting and fishing with his friends and family. He made a lot of memories on his hunt in Northern Quebec with his hunting buddies. His greatest pastime was grilling ribs and spending time with his favorite people. Pete was a self- employed contractor and a highly skilled trim carpenter.  

He was predeceased by his grandparents; Jeanne and Willard Sweeting.

Pete is survived by his mother; Sandy Sweeting, sister; Jeanne (Mike) Campbell, Niece; Angela (AJ), nephew; Michael (Mikey) Peter, numerous close family members, friends and a host of beloved animals. 

Calling hours will be held from 5PM to 7PM on Friday, Jan. 24th 2025 at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette, NY. 

After the calling hours at 6PM there will be a gathering at the VFW 2456 Route 11, LaFayette, NY 13084

There will be a Celebration of Life July 19,t 2025 at 2PM at 2909 LaFayette Rd. LaFayette, NY.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to;

Sandra Sweeting to ensure the legacy of Big S Farm.
