Charles Edward Jacoppo

Charles Edward Jacoppo, age 58, of Charlotte NC passed away on January 14, 2025  surrounded by his family.

Charlie, son of Charles P and the late Rosemarie (Blood) Jacoppo of Watertown MA, beloved husband to Sheryl Ann (Dyer) Jacoppo, to whom he was married to for 36 years. Charlie was a devoted father to Paul and his wife Kasey (Whitmire) Jacoppo, Kevin and his wife Joely (Medina) Jacoppo, Scott Jacoppo and Paige Jacoppo. He was the proud Grampy (Grumpy) to Parker and Paisley Jacoppo, Joseph and Anthony Medina of Honduras; Brother to Linda and George Miller, Diane Usseglio; Brother-in-Law to Michelle Turner and her partner Doug. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins,  along with many “adopted” family members.

Charlie was born in Watertown on May 18,1966. Hockey was his life from an early age as a player all the way through High School, under his mentor Coach Dick Umile. He played on house and travel leagues, many Hockey Night in Boston tournaments and for New Prep. One of his proudest moments was playing at the Boston Garden in 1984 for the State Championship as #7 and winning. His other proudest moment was when he got to play with his children as adults. He took that passion and passed it on to his children . When we moved to Charlotte he became involved with the hockey programs, both adult and youth, as a player and coach, he helped grow the sport . His happiest time is in the rink, whether it was him playing, watching the kids play or just driving the Zamboni.

There will be a Celebration of Life , Friday January 24, 2025 from 4p-7pm at Tribute & Tallent Funerals & Cremations, 1937 N Sharon Amity Road, Charlotte NC 28205. There is a foundation being created in his name to support youth Hockey. Please consider donating in lieu of flowers, we will announce and post the information once available.
