" I would like to be remembered as a man who had a wonderful time living life, a man who had good friends, fine family- and I don't think I can ask for anything more than that, actually. - Frank Sinatra
Adam "Sonny" Cusano born May 18, 1937 in Hartford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida. He was the cherished only child of Angelo and Mary Abate Cusano. Sonny spent most of his life in Hartford before retiring to Melbourne in 1998. A proud member of the Teamsters for 25 years he dedicated much of his career to the highway construction industry. Sonny was a devoted husband for 61 years to Joanne Galiette Cusano of Melbourne, Florida, and a beloved father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Joanne; his daughter Lori Cusano of West Melbourne; his son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Jasmine Cusano of Port St. Lucie and his granddaughters Taylor Deschenes of Satellite Beach and Danielle Deschenes of West Melbourne. Sonny loved life and found joy in spending time with friends and family. He especially looked forward to holidays, birthday celebrations, and weekends filled with laughter and togetherness. Known for his warm personality, he enjoyed sitting in his driveway with a beer in hand, sharing good conversations and laughter with anyone who joined him. Sonny had a generous spirit and was always quick to offer help when needed. He found happiness in simple pleasures like watching sports, taking ocean drives, marveling at cruise ship and rocket launches, and reminiscing about his days in Hartford. Sonny's big heart and love for life left and indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
