Her first job moved her to Kalamazoo before meeting Ed.
Margaret married Edward J Guider on June 30, 1945 at Truax Air Field in Madison, Wisconsin. They built their first home on the Shipley farmstead in Martin, starting their family in 1946. They returned to this homestead after their retirement from the military and Ed built a second story to home.
Ed and Margaret were blessed with 5 children: Edward Jr., Gary, Michael, Kathleen, and David. Ed and Margaret celebrated 71 Happy Anniversary years of marriage. Margaret was a busy homemaker managing their home and children transporting them to all the sports, school and social activities. Their military career moved the family throughout the United States including Texas, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, California, Michigan, Colorado and Maryland/Washington DC. As a Colonel’s wife, she especially enjoyed entertaining the commanders and cadets at the USAF Academy. Margaret’s passion was bridge and golf. She played in many golf tournaments and won two Commanders Cups and carded three Hole-in-ones! She continued playing golf till the age of 95.
