Memorial

Mario Cruz Moraga passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 74. Mario is preceded in death by his mother and sister and survived by his 4 nephews.

Born in Mexico, Mario made his way to Mammoth, Arizona, as a young man and graduated from San Manuel High School in 1972. After high school, he moved to Tucson, where he worked for the University of Arizona for the facilities maintenance team for several years.

But more than the work Mario did, it was the care and devotion he showed to his family that will be remembered most. Mario was never married and did not have children of his own, but he gave so much of himself to help raise his four nephews. In so many ways, Mario gave up his youth to ensure that his nephews had the support they needed. He was a father figure to them, offering guidance, love, and stability. His love didn't stop there; as his great-nieces and great-nephews grew up, they too were blessed to know him as their "Tata," a man whose presence was a constant source of strength and affection.

Mario will be laid to rest beside his mother, and though we no longer have him with us physically, his presence will always be felt. We will forever be grateful for the love and care he gave, and we promise to keep his memory alive in all that we do.

Rest in peace, Mario. We love you, we miss you, and we will never forget the impact you had on our lives.

We will be having a graveside ceremony at 11am on January 23, 2025 at Holy Hope Cemetery 3555 N Oracle Rd Tucson, Arizona. A remembrance luncheon will occur after the graveside services at Michas Restaurant 2908 S Fourth Ave Tucson, Arizona
