It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marion Ann Wallace Everett, a beloved retired preschool teacher, on 01/16/25 at the age of 75. Marion passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, after a long and fulfilling life dedicated to nurturing young minds and shaping the future of countless children. Marion was born in Louisiana to parents Winston Wallace and Odessa Street on 11/12/49. She grew up in Columbus, Georgia and later moved to Miami, Florida, where she spent most of her life. She spent her early years with her brothers and sisters, William S., Joseph W., Ronnie W., Michelle J., Michael J., Preceded in death by siblings Gloria W., Glenn W., Charles W., Debra W., and Margaret F.

Marion’s career began in construction, but she found her true calling in early childhood education. She devoted over 30 years to fostering the intellectual, emotional, and social growth of children. Her gentle, patient nature and unwavering commitment to the well-being of her students left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of learning under her care. Throughout her career, Marion was known for her creative teaching methods, her ability to create a safe and nurturing environment, and her genuine love for children. She believed that every child, regardless of background, had the potential to thrive with the right guidance and encouragement. Many of her former students, now grown adults, still fondly remember her kindness, the songs she sang, and the lessons she imparted that extended beyond academics and into the importance of kindness, empathy, and curiosity.

Marion is survived by her spouse Edward Everett, two daughters Ashley Wallace (Ray) and Tara Vaughn (Harry), 8 grandchildren Chanise Blocker, Kiyani Emden, Clemente Blocker Jr, Rosny Pluviose Jr, Harrisha Vaughn, Jaylin Vaughn, Shady Everett, and Jimieka Cherubin, and a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A private family service will be held in her honor, and a celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests monetary donations. Marion will be remembered not only as a teacher but as a cherished friend, mentor, and guide. Her legacy will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest in peace our dear Marion. Your memory will live on in the hearts of those who shared those memories with you.
